Member Code of Ethics

1. All members of the ATCBA undertake to respect its general Code of Ethics.

2. Members will properly house, feed, water and exercise all dogs in their care and arrange for appropriate veterinary care if and when necessary.

3. Members will agree that no healthy puppy will be eliminated. Puppies that may not conform to the breed standard should be placed in suitable homes.

4. Members agree not to breed from any dog ​​or bitch that could harm the dog or breed in any way.

5. Members will not allow any of their dogs to run free or cause a nuisance to neighbors or those carrying out official duties.

6. Members will clean up after their dogs in public places or wherever their dogs are exposed.

7. Members will only sell dogs when there is a reasonable expectation of a happy and healthy life and will assist in the return of a dog if the original circumstances change.

8. Will provide written details of all dietary requirements and advise regarding responsible ownership when placing dogs in a new home.

9. Members will ensure that all relevant ATCBA documents are provided to the new owner upon sale or transfer of a dog, and will undertake, in writing, to transmit all relevant documents as quickly as possible. deadlines, if not immediately available.

10. We will not sell any dogs to commercial dog wholesalers, pet retailers or authorize, directly or indirectly, dogs to be given away as prizes or donations in any competition. whatever nature it is. Will not sell at sale or auction ATCBA certificates as stand-alone items (not accompanying a dog).

11. Will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the German Shepherd, falsely advertise dogs, or mislead any person regarding the health or quality of a dog.


Breeders Code of ethics

1. Maintain the best possible standards of health and care in my kennel.

2. Refuse to sell or recommend unethical breeders or sell to any buyer if they have reason to believe the puppy will not be properly cared for.

3. Refuse to sell to dog wholesalers or retailers.

4. Maintain and transmit to buyers of puppies or adult dogs precise health, breeding, registration and pedigree documents.

5. Clearly indicate on the contract to the buyer of a puppy or adult dog whether it is a “show prospect” or “pet” dog.

6. Urge all buyers to have a newly purchased puppy or adult dog examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of receipt.

7. Deliver or ship only puppies or adult dogs in good health and good temperament. When the buyer or their authorized representative has not personally seen and selected the puppy or adult dog being shipped, a recommended minimum period of 48 to 72 hours is allowed to return or advise that they will return the animal as soon as possible time limit.

8. It is recommended that a sales contact or written agreement be used to cover any sale or purchase involving a dog.
